The Baby Room

The Baby Room

This spacious and homely room has patio doors that lead out into our beautiful, large, safe and secure play area. We have carefully selected toys for the babies to explore, play and learn with. Our large selection of resources includes books, musical instruments, jigsaws, push along toys, baby bouncer, sand and water play, small table and chairs and a cosy snuggling in area for those special cuddles.

Feeding:

We are happy to follow any feeding routines you have at home, milk, nappies, cream and wet wipes are provided by you the parents, as our main priority in this room is to ensure continuity of care for your baby.

Sleeping:

As babies need to sleep during the day, again we wish to follow your home routines and preferences. We have cots and floor beds, clean bedding will be used for each child. If your child has a comfort blanket, soft toy, dummy or sleeping bag that they use at home, we are more than happy for you to bring it in to nursery.

The Toddler Room

The Toddler Room

Children are encouraged to explore freely and self select toys and activities they would like to play with to develop their independence and creativity, while also given the opportunity to join in with the group activities to develop their social skills and confidence.

Meal Times:

At meal times we feel this is a time for social interaction and children are encouraged to serve themselves and pour their own drinks.

Sleeping:

Children are given the opportunity to have a nap after lunch and floor beds are provided together with clean bedding for each child.

The Pre-School Room

The Pre School Room

This is a large, spacious room which is divided into areas of play and leaning which the children are encouraged to use independently, consisting of sand & water, books & jigsaws, role play, maths & science, computer, music and creative play. This room offers a full range of age appropriate equipment which encourages children to explore their ideas, build confidence and prepare for their transition to "big school".

Meal Times:

The children are encouraged to serve themselves, we also like the children to set the table and give out cutlery and plates. We encourage meal times to be a social event and use this time to encourage good manners and sharing.

Outdoor Play

Outdoor Play

At Scarlet Heights we feel that outdoor play is just as important as any indoor activity, so we feel extremely lucky to have this wonderful large, safe and secure play area that we have, surrounded by fields, with views that stretch miles, the setting and the views are excellent.

The play area is mainly grass, on a slight slope which is great for the development of the grass motor skills (all that rolling down and climbing back up!!) It has a flat section at the top for the bikes and scooters. On the grassy area we have equipment such as balls, tents and tunnels, slides, skipping ropes, balancing equipment and a ball pool. So all we ask is that you bring hats and sunglasses on warm days, wellington boots and raincoats on rainy days and coats, hats, scarves and gloves on the cold days and then we can make the most of our beautiful play area and get the exercise we need whatever the weather.
